Galesburg-Augusta High School is a 410 student high school located in between Augusta and Galesburg on M-96. The students of G-A entered a new high school in 2003, which created new opportunities for all students. Such opportunities include state of the art science departments; up to date technology labs; a modern media center; and new athletic fields of play.
We offer AP courses in English, Government, Biology, Trigonometry and Calculus. Our Band program is second to none, earning a first division rating for the last 22 years.
We are also part of Education for Employment and Education for the Arts (EFE). These are programs for juniors and seniors where instruction is delivered off campus at a variety of sites in Kalamazoo County. Such programs include Allied Health, Construction, Cosmetology, Computer Tech, Heating-Ventilation-Air Conditioning (H-VAC), Auto Tech, etc. Two EFE programs are hosted at G-A: Business Skills & Technology and Accounting.
Our Electives include Spanish; Basic Computers, Small Engines; Art Weights and Team Fitness; Sociology; Drafting; Woods; Life Skills.
At G-A we focus on Career Pathways and Character Education. Career Pathways allows incoming freshmen to chose a field they want to start working toward. Once a Pathway is chosen, a curriculum can be set for them to follow.
Character Education focuses on respecting yourself, your surrounding student body, your staff and administration, and your school. Students can make positive choices that allow themselves to be successful. If negative ones are made, we have 1 and 2 hour After School Detention and Saturday Detention.
